"My favorite place in Ghent is the corner of the street where me and my boyfriend always said goodbye when we did not live together yet. We walked home together hundreds of times from our classes, dates our meeting with our student organization. Sometimes other people walked with us and the goodbyes where a little awkward because we could not hug or kiss as much as we did when we where alone. Other days we stood there and talked for half an hour or longer before actually saying goodbye. Or sometimes we where kissing and hugging and very in love but not yet officially together and friends passed by and made things awkward. We also kissed there for the first time, and I still see him biking away with this big smile on his face when I think about that moment. For a lot of people it is just a normal street corner, but for me it always takes me back to my student days and how awkward but very cute my boyfriend and I where in the beginning"
